Susan is AI and In/Equality Lead for the University of Sheffield’s Centre for Machine Intelligence. She researches technology and society and specialises in communicating complex ideas and systems to diverse audiences. Susan has received recognition and awards for impact, creative public engagements, open research and her expert commentary regularly appears across BBC news outlets.

Kitty McEwan is a freelance comic artist, webtoon author, and illustrator, who specialises in multimedia narratives and character design. Her usual work takes inspiration from everyday life and British culture, and her webtoon series ‘Gurt Noodles’ has amassed over 100k views.

Margaret is a former librarian, who was introduced to the world of AI purely by chance, after an invitation to take part in an experimental People’s Panel on AI . Conscious that this awareness should be extended to all, she dreams of a nationwide conversation using cartoon characters, and promoted by bus stop publicity up and down the country.

Sean has worked as a filmmaker for over 20 years. His work includes documentaries, community arts, academia, charity and humanitarian projects. He is passionate about telling stories from local communities, to give people a voice and platform to speak to wider audiences.

With over 20 years’ experience, Anna enjoys designing and delivering qualitative and deliberative research to help ensure that public voices influence policy-makers. She values the way her job takes her into different communities, helping her see the world through different eyes. She is particularly interested in exploring complex or emerging topics, such as AI, so that she gets to learn alongside her participants.
